About Me

Dagmar von Cramm has her Master's Degree in Nutritional Science, is married and is the mother of three sons. After she completed her degree, she was hired as an editor until she became a freelance food journalist. As a prominent nutrition expert in Germany, she has published over 200 cookbooks and has sold over 4.5 million copies of them.

For Dagmar, scientific principles alone are not enough, but rather the constant practice of living out these principles through the preparation of nutritious food and the maintaince of a seasonal, sustainable, nutrient-rich diet is just as important! She writes her cookbooks not only for babies and children, the whole family, and for day-to-day living, but also for special occasions and entertaining guests.

She is a colleague and expert for a range of magazines such as Eltern, Fokus Diabetes, Für Sie, Myself, Bild der Frau and for the newspaper Bild am Sonntag. She often appears as a guest on various consumer TV programs such as ARD Buffet, NDR Markt and WISO and offers her expertise on talkshows from Maischberger, Plasberg and Jauch. She also has a presence in radio and social media, where she addresses current topics concerning food and drink. Along with this, she works as a nutritional coach for businesses in wellness promotion and gives numerous speeches. Dagmar von Cramm won the journalist prize twice awarded by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ernährung (German Nutrition Society). Since 1995, she has been a voluntary member of the Presiding Committee of the DGE. Furthermore, she belongs to the Verband der Oecotrophlogen e.V. (Alliance of German Dietetians) and the Food Editors Club Deutschland. Dagmar von Cramm is the president of the foundation Besser essen. Besser leben. (Eat better. Live better.) established in 2012. She is in the board of trustees for the Lohmannstiftung and is also a health mediator for the soccer team Werder Bremen.

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ernährung (DGE) The German Nutrition Society communicates the latest scientific findings regarding recommendations for healthy eating habits. It provides the nutritional reference values for nutrient consumption and publishes nutrition reports, while formulating guidelines and nutritional standards. (VDOE) The Alliance of German Dieticians is the political-professional representation for all professionals in dietetics as well as domestic- and nutritional sciences. Deutschland Those who belong to the Food Editors Club are freelance culinary journalists who conduct exchanges within the context of the club and take a stance on certain topics. Die Stiftung Besser essen. Besser leben. This foundation "Eat better. Live better" was founded by AMC international in 2012. At its focal point is the promotion of healthy and good-tasting food starting at an early age. The project "GartenKinder" awakens pre-school- and elementary-school-aged childrens' interest in growing fruits and vegetables in their own school gardens, and in taking an active part in cooking. The cooperation partner of this foundation is the group, "LandFrauen," who provide the schools with gardening supplies and coach the participating teachers.
